John Fisher Park Netball Courts

Court Craft partnered with Warringah Council in the construction of 10 new Plexipave netball courts and the resurfacing of 15 existing netball courts. This site presented a number of challenges as the facility was constructed over an old tip site. Work was completed on-time much to the delight of Manly Warringah Netball Association.

Construction

  • Construction of 10 new asphalt netball courts
  • Construction of a car park to front of the CCYCC.
  • Plexipave surfacing to the 10 new courts and 15 existing hard courts.
  • New light towers and luminaries to new hard courts.
  • Install erosion control measures.
  • Install site shed and temporary water supply beside works

Construction – Car Park

  • Strip out area of concrete kerbing and some street furniture.
  • Excavate area to required depth for falls to driveway.
  • Compact and test foundation.
  • Place and compact to an average depth of 150mm of crushed sandstone sub base.
  • Place and compact to an average depth of 150mm of DGB20 base.
  • Primer seal and install to an average depth of 35mm AC 10 asphalt.

Construction – Lighting

  • Trench for conduits.
  • Excavate, install reo and pour footings for light poles.
  • Stand light poles and attach luminaries.
  • Commission Lighting system

Construction – Courts 4 – 8

  • Strip out area of concrete kerbing and furniture to be removed.
  • Excavate area to required depth allowing for falls to South East.
  • Compact and test foundation.
  • Place and compact average depth of 150mm of crushed sandstone sub base.
  • Place and compact average depth of 150mm of DGB20 base.
  • Primer seal and install to an average depth of 25mm AC 5 asphalt.
  • Plexipave surfacing, line mark, install new netball posts.
  • Commissioning.

Construction – Courts 1 – 3

  • Strip out area of concrete kerbing and furniture to be removed.
  • Profile and / or remove asphalt to existing car park and driveway.
  • Excavate grassed bank area and parking garden island to required depth allowing for falls to South East. Place and compact to average depth of 150mm of crushed sandstone sub base. Place and compact to average depth of 150mm DGB20 base.
  • Grade the existing road base to appropriate levels
  • Compact and test foundation.
  • Install concrete kerbing and dish drain to court surrounds
  • 7mm Primer seal and install to an average depth of 25mm AC 5 asphalt.
  • Plexipave Netball surfacing, line mark, install removable posts and bollards.

Construction – Courts 9 – 10

  • Install fencing shade cloth and erosion control to courts 9 – 10
  • Strip out area of netball posts to be removed.
  • Excavate area to required depth allowing for falls to South.
  • Compact and test foundation.
  • Place and compact to average depth of 150mm of crushed sandstone sub base.
  • Place and compact to average depth of 150mm of DGB20 base.
  • 7mm Primer seal and install to an average depth of 25mm AC 5 asphalt.
  • Plexipave Netball surfacing, line mark, install new posts

Surfacing – To the fifteen existing hard courts.

  • Install security fencing.
  • High pressure clean court area.
  • Expose edge of existing asphalt, remove any grass, grind back and patch.
  • Patch any low spots that hold puddles of water.
  • Patch cracks and asphalt seems where they will be visible.
  • Plexipave Netball surfacing, line mark, install new posts
